Amoi lands orders to make Windows Mobile smartphones for Vodafone

According to sources in Taiwan's handset industry, China-based Amoi Electronics has landed orders to make Windows Mobile smartphones for Vodafone. The move will make the Chinese company the third supplier of Windows Mobile-based mobile devices for the UK-based telecom giant, which at the moment purchases such devices from HTC and Asustek. Amoi will start shipping the so called Amoi 6711 in Q3 2008.
