According to sources in Taiwan's handset industry, China-based Amoi Electronics has landed orders to make Windows Mobile smartphones for Vodafone. The move will make the Chinese company the third supplier of Windows Mobile-based mobile devices for the UK-based telecom giant, which at the moment purchases such devices from HTC and Asustek. Amoi will start shipping the so called Amoi 6711 in Q3 2008. Currently, the same device is offered by other two operators, Orange and AT&T, which are rebranding it as the SPV E610 and SMT5700, respectively.
