Today MetroPCS announced its fourth quarter 2009 earnings. The carrier saw a core market subscriber growth of 11 percent during the year and added 1.3 million net additions in 2009 for a total of 6.6 million subscribers. Leap Wireless today announced its fourth quarter 2009 earnings. The carrier's service revenues in the fourth quarter were up 19.3 percent over the year quarter to $547 million. It gained 298,000 net customer additions in the fourth quarter and a record 1.1 million in the year. The carrier now has 4.95 million end-of-period customers, a 29 percent increase from its 2008 3.84 million customer base. Read the full story here.
