Nokia's modem business acquired by Renesas Electronics for $200 millionToday Nokia announced that it is selling its modem business to Renesas Electronics for $200 million as part of a new business alliance. Nokia's modem business consists of Nokia's wireless modem technologies for LTE, HSPA, and GSM standards, modem patents, and 1,100 research and development employees from Finland, India, the U.K., and Denmark. Motorola Milestone OTA update hits Greece, other European countries followingToday Motorola announced that there is an over-the-air update rolling out to Motorola Milestone owners in Greece. The update originally landed on a few Milestone devices in other countries, but was quickly pulled. Motorola said that the update improves stability, the alarm, music player functionality, and more. Study: 57% of Google Android apps offered for freeAccording to recent study completed by Distimo, a company that offers analytical data regarding app ecosystems, more than half of all Android apps are free to its users. The report shows that fifty seven percent of the apps currently in the Google Android Market are free and forty three percent are offered as paid.
