CSR' BlueCore7 single chip solution combines low energy Bluetooth, GPS and FM Radio

Ultra low power Bluetooth chip solution obviously isn't enough for CSR? They can do more, handset makers and ultimately end-users want more. Hence, they're launching their seventh generation BlueCore silicon (BlueCore7), which integrates Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, Bluetooth low energy, eGPS (enhanced Global Positioning System), and FM transmit and receive technologies on a single chip. Best of all, BlueCore7 allows the Bluetooth and FM radios to work without interference, "either independently or together to allow users to stream FM radio from a handset to a pair of Bluetooth headphones." Why do we care about it? Think smaller handsets, or even better think existing handsets with batteries that last much longer. Sounds promising where in my book. Now, we have to sit and wait for the first phone makers to license the technology and start implementing it in their products. Which we'll hopefully see launched this year… [Via: slashphone ] --- Related Articles at IntoMobile:
