With T-Mobile having announced their T-Mobile @Home UMA (unlicensed mobile access) service for a July 11 launch, additional UMA handset details are starting to creep out of the woodwork. HTC's original T-Mobile Shadow (basically a re-branded HTC Juno) handset was a success for T-Mobile, and it seems that the No. 4 US wireless carrier is looking [...]

Samsung Katalyst t739 for T-Mobile HotSpot@Home service?

@home | devices | hotspot | katalyst | rumors | samsung | t-mobile | t739

T-Mobile’s HotSpot @Home WiFi-calling service is a great idea, But like all great ideas, it needs some support. The T-Mobile handset offerings for the @Home service are definitely slim pickings - the Nokia 6086 and Samsung t409 bring up the low end while the BlackBerry Curve 8320 holds down the top end of the lineup. Well, we’re hearing that T-Mobile could be supplementing their @Home lineup with a new phone. The next T-Mobile @Home-compatible handset may be the Samsung t739 slider phone.  The Samsung t739 packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, media player, WiFi (obviously), and EDGE - which plunks the Samsung t739 down squarely in mid-range territory. We’ll likely have to wait until December to actually get our eyes on this thing - stay tuned, you’ll know more when we do.
