HTC has Qualcomm to blame for its decline in revenues during the first quarter of next year as the chipmaker is unable to deliver all chipset solutions required by the smartphone manufacturer. Apparently, HTC will receive up to only 70% of the CDMA and WCDMA solutions it needs for the period despite a capacity ramp by Qualcomm. This in turn will affect HTCs shipments of CDMA-based handset to the U.S. and WCDMA handsets to Europe. In real life, this translates into revenues declining 38.5% sequentially to NT$24 billion (US$738.5 million) in Q1 2008 from the NT$39 billion projected for Q4 2007… UPDATE: HTC said its operations won’t be affected by Qualcomm chipset shortages .
