Nokia N95 8GB NAM pictures [UPDATED]

8gb | ces | ces 2008 @ las vegas | n95 | nam | nokia

The highly-anticipated Nokia N95 8GB NAM is live! Nokia launched it last night and we managed to snap a couple pics of the sleek, large-screened beauty as we threw back complimentary drinks and scarfed down some delish eats. Before anyone starts complaining about the craptastic photo quality, please bear with us. High-resolution pics are on the way, hang in there. Just like its Euro-counterpart , the Nokia N95 8GB NAM rocks that larger screen, 8GB of onboard memory (of course), larger battery, more RAM, 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss shooter, and that conspicuously absent lens-cover. Here’s a little taste of the Nokia N95 8GB NAM in all its black-clad glory. Keep reading to see the rest of the pics. Update: High-res pics added, enjoy!  ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Nokia leak hints at Nokia N95 8GB North American Version, N82 8GBNokia N95 advertisement shows slightly tweaked designBrief: Nokia N95 8GB North American Edition: 100% ConfirmedNokia working on 8GB version of N95!Nokia N95 8GB Black glamor shots from London's Nokia GoPlay Launch Event

Nokia N95 advertisement shows slightly tweaked design

The boys over at Engadget Mobile spotted this interesting advert on Yahoo! today. Like so many yuppy mid-lifers that have gone under the knife in search of vanity and youth, the Nokia N95 you see pictured here just looks a bit strange. It’s an N95, that much we’re sure of. But, take a look at the edges of the device - they look strangely beveled for some reason. Clicking on the ad takes you to Nokia’s USA Nokia N95 page, so we’re assuming the “8GB expandable memory” claim is referring to the microSD card slot. The Nokia N95 8GB NAM should be an all-black handset without a microSD card slot, so this ad is most likely referring to the already-launched Nokia N95-3. Sloppy advertising aside, what’s with the tweaked look of this Nokia N95-3? What’s this? Another N95 release? That’s right. In the tradition of Motorola’s re-released-to-death RAZR lineup, Nokia has let it slip that the Noka N95 8GB will be tweaked and re-released to play nice on those funky US 3G frequencies that make America so great. It makes sense for Nokia to release a US-spec Nokia N95 8GB for some time now, and it seems that the launch may not be far off. Nokia actually leaked the information themselves, following the leaked hardware pics of the Nokia N96 the other day. Astute Nokia fans noticed that the “Downloads!” page in Nokia’s US Nseries Portal featured support for the Nokia N95 8GB NAM as well as the rumored Nokia N82 8GB. Was it just a case of too much rum-laced EggNog at the Nokia Holiday Office party, or is Nokia going to make it their policy to leak future handset info themselves? We’d prefer the latter - after all, there’s no better kind of leak than those that come straight from the manufacturer. The Nokia N82 8GB listing was taken down with haste, but Nokia decided to leave the N95 8GB NAM up for all to see. We’d say that the launch of the Nokia N95 8GB US is highly likely, with the Nokia N82 8GB possibly not far behind. CES 2008 will probably net us some juicy details, and possibly a few juicier pics. Stay tuned! Apple iPhone outsells LG Prada, HTC Touch, Nokia N95 in Europe

If there’s one thing that gets people riled up more than details on how well the iPhone is selling, it’s news that the iPhone is out-selling the Nokia N95 in Europe. The iPhone clearly outsells these handsets in the US, but Europe has been regarded as a reluctant market for the iPhone, given it’s lack of critical hardware features. We previously mentioned that the iPhone has shown disappointing sales figures in the UK, but it seems that even “ laggard ” iPhones sales on UK’s O2 network are still outselling rivals. In fact, all three European markets are reportedly seeing sales of the iPhone outpacing those of its closest, and highly subsidized, competitors - a group that includes the HTC Touch , LG Prada, Nokia N95, and Nokia’s E-Series handsets. Michael Abramsky, an analyst with RBC Capital, is reporting that iPhone sales in the UK, Germany and France have proven strong. He notes “solid European iPhone momentum,” adding that the “iPhone appears to be an early hit with European Smartphone consumers.” Despite selling only 10,000 iPhones on launch day , many of T-Mobile’s 700 German retail stores are reporting 15-20 iPhone sales per week. France’s Orange Wireless, by far the iPhone’s strongest EU market , has reported that approximately 63,000 customers have registered their interest in the iPhone, with reports of some Orange stores running out of iPhone-stock. Most notably, and sure to draw the ire of Nokia fans (especially those with Nokia N95’s - the author excluded), the iPhone has been outselling the feature-packed Nokia N95 in Europe - which has sold 1 million handsets since its launch in March (not a sluggish seller, to be sure). Keep in mind that the iPhone is still only available in three European markets (at least officially) and has largely been sold on-contract and locked to a particular carrier. All these factors led Mr. Abramsky to raise his previous forecast for Apple to sell 12.1 million iPhones in 2008 to a new target of 12.5 million iPhones - higher still than Apple’s own goal of 10 million iPhones. And, this is all before the next-generation iPhone, with 3G in tow, has been officially announced ( brain-farts from AT&T CEOs excepted ). We have to believe that Apple had forecasted sales performance in this range, and has purposely kept details on the 3G iPhone under tight-wraps in an effort to curb cannibalization of current-generation iPhones.
