I have a sad news to report to all the touchscreen device fans. In case you’ve wanted to grab the U.S. version of the Samsung F700 this Christmas, you’ll have to wait a little longer. And while we don’t have an exact release date, the fact that today is December 18 and that the Samsung U940 just recently passed the FCC don’t exactly tell us you’ll be able to play with one under the Christmas tree. Then again, if you still haven’t spent money from your “gadget fund” maybe it’s time to relax and take it easy… The first quarter of next year promises tons of goodies. Can’t wait! Lucky folks of PhoneArena got a chance to try out the early prototype of the upcoming Samsung U940 phone. As we’ve already reported , it’s the same device as the F700 which is an exclusive to Vodafone in UK. However, it seems that the CDMA version is a bit different than its European counterpart. Most notably, unlike the F700 which has the 3 MP camera, the U940’s camera has only 2 megapixels. In addition, the user interface is also bit changed, but still relies solely on a finger rather than on stylus. The screen size and the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard remain unchanged, though. We don’t know the exact release date, but I guess Verizon will release it sooner rather than later… ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Samsung F700 coming to Verizon?Orange preparing the colorful collection for ChristmasSony Ericsson PlayStation phone coming by Christmas?Asus P550 coming to Vodafone as v1520Skype for Symbian is coming before Christmas!?
