announcements | applications | onesearch | windows mobile | yahoo | yahoo! go

Seemingly renewed by its escape from takeover, Yahoo is hitting the Windows Mobile platform with gusto. With the release of the new Yahoo! Go 3.0 beta for Windows Mobile handsets, Yahoo has improved their mobile application's UI and Yahoo oneSearch feature. The new Yahoo! Go 3.0 supports full widget support (like Wikipedia, MySpace and eBay) [...]

Nokia N95 advertisement shows slightly tweaked design

8gb | announcements | devices | n95 | n95 3 | nam | nokia | yahoo

The boys over at Engadget Mobile spotted this interesting advert on Yahoo! today. Like so many yuppy mid-lifers that have gone under the knife in search of vanity and youth, the Nokia N95 you see pictured here just looks a bit strange. It’s an N95, that much we’re sure of. But, take a look at the edges of the device - they look strangely beveled for some reason. Clicking on the ad takes you to Nokia’s USA Nokia N95 page, so we’re assuming the “8GB expandable memory” claim is referring to the microSD card slot. The Nokia N95 8GB NAM should be an all-black handset without a microSD card slot, so this ad is most likely referring to the already-launched Nokia N95-3. Sloppy advertising aside, what’s with the tweaked look of this Nokia N95-3? Track exchange rates with your iPhone Stocks application

announcements | apple | applications | currency | exchange | iphone | rates | services | stocks | yahoo

If you ever find yourself needing to quickly check how the Canadian Looney is faring in comparison to the US Dollar, your iPhone is the only tool you’ll need. It turns out that the same data-stream that the iPhone uses to get updated stock-information will also serve up the latest currency exchange rates. Yahoo actually allows special ticker symbols to be used to retrieve currency exchange rates, so simply adding these special symbols to your iPhone’s Stocks application will give you one-touch access to exchange rates. For example, adding the ticker symbol “GBPUSD=X” to your stocks list will keep you updated on just how many US Dollars you’ll need to buy one Great British Pound. If the Looney interests you, the “CADUSD=X” ticker symbol will give you a heads up on just how poorly the USD is performing. Find more exchange-rate ticker-symbols here . Yahoo launches Chinese-langage Yahoo! Go 2.0

2.0 | announcements | china | chinese | go | kimo | services | taiwan | yahoo

The Chinese wireless market is a formidable force. With their hundreds and hundreds of millions of wireless subscribers, it makes sense for Yahoo to cater to the Chinese market. The search-giant has announced that they will be releasing their Yahoo! Go 2.0 mobile service in a Chinese-flavored version. The US has had Yahoo! Go 2.0 for some time now. And it seems that Yahoo! Kimo (Taiwan) will be taking the traditional Chinese-language Yahoo! Go 2.0 software platform overseas. We’re sure the Yahoo! Go 2.0 service will be fully-censored to the Chinese government’s liking. We can’t imagine that searches for “Chinese censoring” or “religious oppression in China” will yield any productive results.  Still, we’re sure Chinese Yahoo! Go 2.0 users will be happy to have Yahoo! Kimo’s online services at their fingertips. [Via: DigiTimes ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Yahoo!
