So it looks like RIM's encrypted BlackBerry network will keep on keeping on in India. Following a meeting between Indian government officials and representatives from the wireless industry, India has decided to let the encrypted BlackBerry system continue operating. "We will discuss the issue with the Telecom Commission… the country's security is of paramount importance," said Telecom Minister A Raja today. We're not sure what kind of issues are going to be discussed, but we'd be willing to bet that backdoor access to BlackBerry networks will be brought up more than once… At least Indian BlackBerry fans can go about their merry push emailing ways.
