LG along with Flickr launch Viewtyful World photo contest
LG has partnered with Yahoo-owned Flickr to launch a photo contest called Viewtyful World to "provide opportunities to explore the diverse places surrounding our lives and rediscover the wonders and attractions of these worlds through photography." Needless to say they are using the opportunity to promote one of their flagship mobile phones - LG Viewty. The "Viewtyful World" photo contest which will start from April 10 and run to June 11, will be carried out under the three themes of night view, retouch, and moments. LG will produce the eight-week contest in association with Yahoo, the top global Website with subsidiaries Flickr and Kelkoo, and National Geographic magazine which features the highest-quality photojournalism in the world. As for the prizes, there are Viewty phones as weekly prizes, two winners will be chosen by viewers via online voting and the best photo will be selected by a renowned National Geographic photographer. The final winner will have the honor of seeing his or her prize-winning work featured in a Viewty advertorial in National Geographic magazine and receive a copyright fee of US $10,000 for his or her work.
