T-Mobile today announced the Motorola W450, a sporty, durable clamshell with a rubberized external coating.

The W450 is built for action. A chin bar at the base of the phone lets users clip it to a belt or pack. In addition to its sturdy exterior, users can look up symptoms and first aid tips, such as poison ivy, through built-in Mayo Clinic In Touch software.

It has a 1.3-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. Motorola's CrystalTalk technology and quad-band connectivity ensure clear calls from almost anywhere in the world. For handsfree connectivity, the W450 can be paired with a compatible stereo Bluetooth enabled headset.

Consumers can listen to music through a built-in MP3 player and 2.5mm headset jack. It supports an optional microSD memory card up to 2GB. The W450 features one click access to music, pictures and messages.

"The Motorola W450 is designed to meet the needs of today's mobile consumers, from the great outdoors to the corporate jungle," said Dennis Burke, Vice President of Motorola. "With its sturdy exterior and feature-packed interior, this device will quickly become the phone of choice for people with an active lifestyle."

The Motorola W450 features Alpine White or Black Slate color schemes, with either Canary Yellow or Mandarin accents.
