O2UK launches a Managed service for Enterprise Mobile Email

messaging | o2 | productivity

O2 has launched a new managed service for enterprise mobile email customers. O2 is saying that the service is suitable for businesses with 100+ users and would take away a lot of the pain associated with managing mobile access to mail. The service is provided using either BlackBerry or Motorola devices, and is price on a per unit, per month basis (including the managed services and provisioning). O2 has also said it could help businesses maximise (I would suggest "optimise" perhaps is a better term) the use of the devices, by monitoring usage, reporting, and advising of any changes that could be made. Good on O2 I say - not all SMEs have dedicated resource to spend on Mobile IT issues, and few employees have the tech-savvy to set up these services themselves. So O2 stepping in to provide that outsourced IT setup and management has gotta be a good thing - provided of course, that usual consideration that "the price is right"!
