2 million Palm Centro smartphones sold!

It was at the end of March when we reported about Palm’s success to sell one million Centros. Now, they are reporting another million has been sold in the meantime! This is a huge success for the struggling Treo maker and I honestly hope they’ll release the long-awaited successor to the Palm OS pretty soon. Palm is [...]

Palm posts $43 million Q4 loss despite increased revenue

This sounds all too familiar. Like Helio's inability to turn a profit despite increasing their cash inflow, Palm has posted their Q4 earnings to disappointing effect. Palm highlighted the fact that their revenue was up 29%, based on smartphones sales of 968,000 units totaling $296.2 million. But, it wasn't enough to hide the fact that the [...]

Cellspin brings mobile blogging to Palm OS! Audio, video, pictures, and text posting with ease

The ability to blog on-the-go is at once a blessing and a curse. Mobile blogging (or, moblogging, as it were) opens up so much in the way of productivity, but it also puts a kibosh on all "away from the computer" excuses. Double-edged swords like this are commonplace in the mobile space. With the Palm Centro [...]

Palm announces unlocked Palm Centro for the contract-wary, Google Maps My Location for Palm Centro

Long-term contracts and carrier-locked handsets are almost a fact of life for many in the US. Sure, Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T have all picked up a Palm Centro to complement their portfolio of smartphones, but the Big Three US wireless carriers are going to want you to sign up for a 2-year stint. For those of [...]

Palm Centro boosts Palm marketshare, RIM sees BlackBerry market share rise, Apple loses in iPhone market

Just as we're getting ready to write-off the aging Palm OS and make room in our hearts for the next-generation Palm OS, Palm goes and regains some lost ground in the smartphone market. Palm has apparently seen its smartphone market-share rise to 13.4%, up from 7.9% in Q4 2007. The popular Palm Centro is credited for [...]

Telstra brings Palm Centro to Australia

Telstra is bringing the hugely popular Centro smartphone to Australia. Already sold in one million units, the Centro is bringing all the power of a smartphone in a small, yet somewhat stylish packing — all with the full QWERTY keyboard. It packs a camera, Bluetooth connectivity, memory expansion slot, and users can further expand Centro's [...]

Black Palm Centros hitting AT&T stores

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought the "Obsidian Black" version of the Palm Centro is already available in AT&T stores. After all, it was announced alongside the funkier "Glacier White" Centro. Anyway, in case you waited for the more-serious-looking Centro and you're already on AT&T (or at least considering switching), now's your chance. It's probably the [...]

Deal: Palm Centro available for free with 2-year Sprint contract via WireFly

WireFly is offering Palm Centro in Onyx Black for free. As expected it's not exactly free as in free dinner, but it's the next best thing. Sprint's two-year long Power Pack 450 contract which costs 40 bucks per month is required, but that money pays you 450 minutes, unlimited Sprint PCS to Sprint PCS minutes, [...]

Strategy Analytics' research: Palm Centro, Samsung i760 best designed handsets; Say what?

We all know there are different kinds of research methodologies and you should always check several sources before making any judgments. But this one comes from Strategy Analytics whose buyer behavior writeup suggests its the Palm Centro that users picked as the best designed handset. Now don’t get me wrong, the Centro is quite nice device — as a matter of fact it’s probably the best looking Palm OS based smartphone ever. But what about the iPhone, or some of the Nokia and HTC models? HTC Touch anyone? Anyway, what struck us the most was that the Samsung i760 took a 2nd position in the survey. Say what? Were users just exposed to these two phones? Apparently not, as Nokia Prism and LG Rumor also scored few points along the way. Still they were not considered to be “multifunction and fully integrated” enough, whatever that means… [Via: Engadget Mobile ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Verizon may have Samsung i760 world phone in the worksRed Palm Centro now available on SprintSprint to launch pink Palm Centro for Valentine's Day?Palm Centro coming to AT&T?Sprint's Palm Treo 800 Gandolf will be launched as the Palm Centro
