Thanks to the eagle eyed folks of MobileInCanada, we've spotted that the LG Venus — which is already available in the U.S. via Verizon — is ready to hit the Canadian mobile phone market. Telus is LG's carrier of choice and starting from mid-April, Canadians will be able to grab one of the coolest looking [...]

In Canada, Telus Mobility is launching a new discount wireless provider called "Koodo Mobile." And while they still haven't announced anything official we managed to get some early info. There's no doubt that with tagline "Good Call", and sentences like "Get Fat-Fee Mobility", "Make every second count with per-second billing", "We stretch your budget with plans [...]

Telus adding BlackBerry 8330 Curve, Samsung U740?

We're not exactly sure what's Telus up to, but apparently they'll be rolling out two interesting devices in the near future - BlackBerry 8330 Curve and Samsung U740. The first one was briefly spotted by HowardForums' member "blackdogs377" who even got the screenshot of the Canadian carrier's website to prove. Soon after he posted it, Telus [...]

We've already talked about SpinVox's visual voice-to-text voicemail service in the past.
TELUS releases Samsung R500

Telus has just announced a release of the new low-to-mid range phone - Samsung R500. The stylish clamshell comes in red and blue, and also supports exchangeable faceplates allowing users to refresh their device from time to time. As for the specs, there’s the 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, and of course microSD memory expansion slot. In addition, the Samsung R500 supports Telus’ suite of mobile services, meaning that potential customers will be able to access TELUS Mobile Music, TELUS Mobile Radio, and Windows Live Messenger. Finally, let’s discuss the pricing. Apparently, the R500 is somewhat significant device, hence the Canadian carrier wanted to grab the exclusive deal from Samsung. Meaning, you’ll be able to buy the R500 only from Telus for CA$49.99 on a three-year term or CA$249.99 without a contract… ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Alltel to add Samsung R200, R500 to its offeringTelus launches Samsung SCH-m620 aka UpStageTelus adds entry-level Samsung U410Telus releases Fastap-equipped ZTE D90Telus adds Samsung U540 to its offering

Telus adds LG 285 for those not looking much from their phone

In preparation for the Christmas season, Telus has added the low-end LG 285 phone. The clamshell device everything but impresses with its “feature set,” but it DOES look quite decent for an entry-level phone. As for the specs, there’s the Bluetooth connectivity and VGA camera on board. In addition, users of this device will also be able to chat with their buddies on Windows Live Messenger and check their email while on-the-go. The LG 285 measures 89×47x22 mm, weighs 91 grams, and could be yours from free on a 3-year term to CA$199.99 sans any contract… [Via: MobileInCanada ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Telus adds LG 380, the affordable Chocolate-like clamshellTelus adds MOTO RAZR2 V9mTelus adds entry-level Samsung U410Telus P4000 users get free Windows Mobile 6.0 upgradeTelus adds Samsung u510, Moto KRZR

We haven’t seen Telus announcing a wireless card for laptops for some time. Naturally, they’ve decided to change their mind just in time for the Christmas shopping season, and we have them offering the Sierra Wireless Aircard 597E. According to Sierra Wireless , the new ExpressCard uses the EV-DO Rev. A network to provide users with download speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1.8 Mbps.
LG Shine 8700 goes gold on Telus

There’s no doubt Telus, just like any other carrier around the world, is preparing for the hot Christmas season. Lately, we’ve spotted them adding the gold LG Shine 8700 to their portfolio. The device is practically the same as the original Shine, which we saw introduced on Telus back in September , it’s just… well gold finished. Meaning, if you live in Canada, or have someone very special living/working there who needs a new mobile phone - this device can say “I love you” much better than your mouth can. Diamonds may be the girl’s best friend, so I guess the gold is the next best thing.
Telus brings the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 to Canda

It looks like our friends to the North are getting in on the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 party. Telus has just made the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 (we know it better as the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 ) official for maple-syrup lovers in Canada. The GPS-packin’ BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 is expected to hit the Telus network at $199.99 with a 3-year contract (we’re assuming that’s Canadian dollars, not like it matters now that the Looney is on par with the USD), or $499.99 free and clear. If you’re willing to sign away three years of your wireless life, $199.99 doesn’t sound too bad for a GPS Pearl. On the other hand, it’s going to be an obsolete handset in a year or so - that three-year commitment is pretty hardcore.
