Alltel tried to buy Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile

What's this? A recent interview with Alltel CEO Scott Ford has revealed that prior to getting prepped as Verizon's $28 billion meal, Alltel tried to buy one of the Big Three US wireless carriers. Apparently, Alltel made a bid to takeover Sprint not once, but three times. Talk about gung-ho dedication. AT&T and T-Mobile were even [...]

Alltel announces red BlackBerry Pearl 8130, LG Scoop, and Samsung Muse

Alltel will be expanding its portfolio with three additional devices. First comes the GPS-equipped BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in red, which is already available for preordering. Then there’s the text-friendly LG Scoop with its full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Once it hits the market, you’ll be able to pick it up in orange, cyan or gray color. Finally, the mid-range Samsung Muse is a decent clamshell for people who want to use their mobile phone as a music player. The 2 megapixel camera is also on board allowing you to take occasionally photos while on-the-go. Now let’s discuss — or not — the availability. Except for the the Pearl, we don’t have the exact details when you’ll be able to pick any of the mentioned devices. Most likely within month or two, so stay tuned… In the meantime, check out Alltel’s page dedicated to the new offering.
