<title>AT&amp;T launches Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881 HSUPA USB modem</title>
 <link>http://www.skipbx.com/at_t_launches_sierra_wireless_usbconnect_881_hsupa_usb_modem.html</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;With AT&amp;amp;T’s high-speed upload network now online, the wireless carrier is starting to roll out wireless data HSUPA  modems. AT&amp;amp;T’s first HSUPA data card offering was the Sierra Wireless AirCard 881 , and now they’re offering us the Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881 HSUPA USB modem to surf the full HSPA data highway. If expresscards aren’t your thing, you’ll be glad to hear that AT&amp;amp;T is bringing their HSPA (3G data on the upstream and downstream - HSDPA and HSUPA) network to a USB-port on Mac or Windows rig near you. The Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881 USB modem tips the scales at just 1.25 ounces and tri-band HSPA support with full quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. The newly-launched AT&amp;amp;T HSPA network will push data down the (wireless) pipe at 600kbps to 1.4Mbps, and will pull data upstream at 500kbps and 800kbps. The Sierra Wireless USBConnect 881 HSPA USB modem will run you $49.99 (rebate involved, of course) when you sign up for a 2-year DataConnect contract of $59.99, or more, per month - $299.99 will net you this HSPA USB modem free and clear. HSPA?! We’ll take some of that delicious 3G data, please. <title>Rogers Wireless announces 7.2Mbps HSPA service trials in Canada</title>
 <link>http://www.skipbx.com/rogers_wireless_announces_7_2mbps_hspa_service_trials_in_canada.html</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;While the US plays catch-up with Canada’s Rogers Wireless’ HSPA network , the No. 1 GSM carrier up north has just announced plans to boost its wireless broadband speeds to 7.2Mbps. The Rogers Wireless HSPA trial has gone live in Montreal and Brampton - but we’re not sure what the trial parameters are. Either way, there are going to be some happy 7.2Mbps HSPA testers in Montreal and Brampton. We just wish we could get a taste of some super-highspeed broadband from the likes of AT&amp;amp;T. Not that the super-high speeds will make mobile web browsing any faster - the page-viewing bottleneck usually lies in processing and rendering speeds of mobile devices, rather than the connection speed. But it’d be nice to get cable-broadband speeds over the air and onto our laptops. Enjoy that 7.2Mbps, you lucky Canadians, you.
