We’ve already wrote that the new iPhone firmware is coming . Heck we’ve even see the video demoing all — or some of — the new features. But apparently, there’s more coming… According to MacScoop , Jobs&Co will unveil the new iPhone firmware during this year’s MacWorld Expo. The reports obtained claim the software update will among other things add Copy/Paste, which is one of the most requested features by iPhone users… As always Apple is quiet until the launch day and we can only pray there’s some truth in the reports. iPhone firmware 1.1.3 leaked; Kills third-party apps - improves Google Maps, other things

Just in time for the New Year’s eve, we have a new iPhone firmware version 1.1.3 leaked. As with the previous releases, the upcoming firmware update will kill your third-party apps and make your beloved device work with Apple’s carrier of choice only. That means you should be careful when this update becomes alive, especially if you’re on a different carrier or if you care about your third-party apps. And now the good things:

The new firmware adds the ability to send an SMS message to multiple people
Google Maps application can now pinpoint your location using cell tower triangulation, the so called “My Location” feature
In addition, Google Maps can now display the Hybrid map view
You can now drag and drop application icons on your home screen
The home screen supports pagination
You can now add web bookmarks to your home screen (very useful)

Finally, the release date — we’ve exact date, but some sources around the Web suggest it will be available starting from January 15. Just when you’ve started enjoying the unlocked iPhone firmware 1.1.1, Apple decided to close the doors to the third party apps and other hacks again . Luckily, there’s a way to go back in time and restore your firmware version to 1.1.1. You should know you’ll need the firmware 1.1.1 ipsw file in your computer as well as iNdependence version 1.2.5 before you proceed.
