Bell launches Sanyo Katana Eclipse

So, where will the Sanyo Katana Eclipse first launch? Nope, it’s not Sprint. Turns out, the newest clamshell from Sanyo will be offered first in Canada through Bell Mobility. The Sanyo Katana Eclipse has been getting some disproportionate press recently, considering its mid-range feature-set, but there’s no doubt that the affordable flip-phone will find plenty [...]

The Samsung Instinct is one of the most popular CDMA touchscreen handsets to land on North American shores in some time. With Sprint claiming records sales numbers for the Instinct, Bell has apparently taken the handset’s popularity in to account in their own Canadian debut of the Samsung Instinct. As expected, Bell has launched their [...]

Following Telus, the other CDMA carrier in Canada — Bell Mobility — is adding the BlackBerry Curve 8330.
Bell adds MOTO RAZR2 V9m, BlackBerry Pearl 8130

Few days ago we saw Canadian Bell Mobility adding two interesting devices. I guess it’s the Christmas shopping season, the people of Canada should thank to for the sudden expansion of the carriers’ phone portfolios. Anyway, the first device is the MOTO RAZR2 V9m, which we’ve already covered in quite a few posts before — hence I ain’t gonna waste your time writing about RAZR2 specs. I’ll only say that Bell Mobility is selling it for CA$249.99 with a 3-year term or for $CA449.99 sans any contract. The other device is RIM’s BlackBerry Pearl 8130 — the one with the built-in GPS — which you can get for CA$149.99 with a 3-year term or for $CA449.99 without a contract. Guess the contract that comes with RIM’s device costs more, as with a 3-year term the device is cheaper than RAZR2, even though both cost the same without a contract… [Via: MobileInCanada ] ---Related Articles at IntoMobile:Verizon's BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on pre-order - get your BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 nowTelus brings the BlackBerry Pearl 2.0 to CanadaSprint's BlackBerry 8130 Pearl for $199Telus adds MOTO RAZR2 V9mSprint announces BlackBerry 8130 Pearl 2 for release next month

Bell Mobility adds LG Muziq

Choosing the right music phone just got tougher for Canadians. Previously we saw Bell Mobility adding Motorola ROKR Z6m , and now the same carrier is offering the LG Muziq. We’ve already wrote about the LG’s music-centric clamshell when it was first introduced on Sprint . I’ll only repeat it comes with a 1.3 MP camera, two screens (external - 10 lines, 262K color, 128×160 pixel; internal - 11 lines, 262K color,176×220 pixel), stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) support, FM transmitter that allows you to play music over any any FM radio source (like in your car), dedicated touch-sensitive music control keys, SIRIUS Satellite Radio support, and of course the microSD expansion slot. Right now, Bell is selling the LG Muziq for CA$79.95 with a 3-year term, CA$129.95 with a 2-year term, CA$249.95 for a single-year term, or for CA$299.95 sans any contract… Full press release follows after the jump. PRESS RELEASE - LG today announced the availability of the LG MUZIQ(TM), an innovative mobile phone packed with rich music and other multimedia features and a unique new interface that delivers a personalized user experience, exclusively from Bell Mobility. “This is the ultimate music phone because it is the only cell phone in Canada with a Music Broadcaster that lets you play music from your cell phone on any FM radio,” said Andrew Barrett, Vice President, Marketing, LG Electronics Canada, “Stylish music lovers no longer need a separate cell phone and MP3 player because the LG Muziq combines the best of both in one striking and technological leading edge unit.” The LG MUZIQ delivers an extensive array of entertainment services such as full-length movies, full-track song and album downloads and SIRIUS Satellite Radio. And for those who like to share their music, the built-in MUZIQ Broadcaster can transmit music wirelessly to any FM radio source. Delivered in a stylish and compact package, the LG MUZIQ also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera/camcorder with flash and zoom. Its Background Manager lets clients keep playing their music while they use other interactive services such as messaging or web browsing. The LG MUZIQ also introduces the Bell User Experience, the first fully embedded and customized mobile phone user interface in Canada. Clients can quickly select their preferred content on a carousel located on the home screen, creating short cuts to favourite applications and services. Personalized bubbles deliver dynamic data, such as weather and headlines. The interface also enables clients to download service updates and new features from Bell. “The user interface is becoming an increasingly important feature for wireless clients. The Bell User Experience allows exceptionally fast and easy access to a client’s favourite services, and keeps them directly connected to the news and information content they select themselves,” said Adel Bazerghi, Vice President, Products for Bell Mobility. Other features of the LG MUZIQ include:

Mobile Media: play streaming media, Mobile TV, Mobile Radio and Mobile Music

Picture and video messaging to share media, sounds and text from phone to phone or phone to email

Text messaging

MP3 ringtones and images

Mobile browser

Location Based Services capability

JAVA 2.0 (J2ME) to download games and applications

Integrated music player with digital EQ presets and repeat/shuffle functions

Touch-sensitive music controls with vibe feedback

One-touch speakerphone

Bluetooth(R) for wireless stereo headset support, wireless printing, contact/scheduler, file transfer and dial-up network support

Expandable MicroSD port-to-store music, images and videos

The LG MUZIQ is available for as low as $79.95 on a three-year contract.
